The CIEE orientation will provide you with one week of Mandarin Language lessons. Once you leave and integrate into the community of your new school, you will be able to provide yourself with ample opportunity to learn Chinese. Try to set up reciprocal tutoring with a Chinese colleague or volunteer at a local community center. The more you can do to participate in your new community, the more exposure you will have to the culture.
