IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR US PROGRAMMES - INTERNSHIP USA AND PCT USA!

As of July 19th 2007, the US State Department has changed the rules governing the administration and processing of these programmes, as well as some of the eligibility criteria.

Most important of these is the introduction of the new DS-7002 Host Company documentation. Instead of the CIEE Host Company Training Proposal, all applications must now have this form completed by the Host Company in the USA. Once we have been able to grant the sponsorship, and issue the DS-2019, the participant will need to take this form to their interview at the US Embassy for their interview. WITHOUT THIS THEY WILL NOT BE GRANTED THE VISA.

PLEASE NOTE WE ARE NOW NOT ALLOWED TO PROCESS APPLICATIONS THAT DO NOT HAVE THIS FORM COMPLETED AND SIGNED BY BOTH THE HOST COMPANY AND PARTICIPANT.

For the INTERNSHIP USA Programme, the MAXIMUM lenfgth is now 12 months at the Host Company in the US, with no extension available.
However, the programme does now allow for repeat participation!
This means that if a student goes for 12 months as part of their placement year, or while in full time education, they are still eligible to go for another 12 months within 12 months of finishing their studies.
This does not "take away" from their eligibility later on to do an 18 month TRAINEE programme!
