IST Plus provides:

Placement as an English teacher for 5 or 10 months

An intensive 7-day training and orientation course in Bangkok and the resort of Kanchanaburi, covering basic TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) theory and practice, cultural seminars, survival language training and sight seeing trips

Transportation from the orientation site to your host institution
24-hour emergency in-country support during your stay
Necessary legal documentation required to work in Thailand

Teaching hours that are typically between 16 and 22 hours per week. Participants mostly teach English, however there may be the opportunity to teach other subjects depending on your academic background
Optional group flight. All those arriving with the group flight or arriving on the same day as the group flight will be met at Bangkok airport by local staff
A free one-way flight from Bangkok to those who successfully complete a continuous 10-month contract at the same institution* This only applies to those who depart in May
A comprehensive handbook written by Programme staff, including useful information on Thailand, advice on teaching and how best to prepare for the experience

Eligibility

To take part in the Teach in Thailand programme you should be:
A graduate of any discipline
Under the age of 65
Flexible and adaptable
In good physical and mental health
In possession of excellent English language skills

One semester placement (5 months) £725
Two semester placement (10 months) £825
Application deadline for October 2008: September 19th 2008
Orientation - 19th - 25th October 2008 (In Bangkok)
Application deadline for May 2009: March 27th 2009
Orientation - 3rd-9th May 2009 (In Bangkok)
Fees do not include the Thai visa (currently £45) payable to the Royal Thai Embassy.
