In order to apply for this visa, you need to be on one of the programmes listed below....Please read all the information on this page very carefully, as failure to follow these guidelines will almost certainly delay your trip to the USA!

IMPORTANT: HOW IT WORKS!
1: You secure a position in the US with an American Company2: You apply to IST Plus with your completed forms signed and filled out by yourself and your potential US Employer (and your university if presently a student). Make sure you include your payment for the correct amount of time!
3: We (IST Plus) receive and check your documentation to make sure it is all OK - if yes, we begin the application process. If any part of your application is missing information, your application will go on hold. We will email you and wait for you to send the missing information.
4: If your application is complete, and once the vetting and checking has been done in the USA, we will send you yyour legal documentation (the DS-2019 etc). You should allow at least 6 weeks for this process (more if your potential Host company requires a site visit - please click here for more information)
5: Once you receive your DS-2019 and other documents from us, YOU are able to book a face to face interview at the US Embassy to apply for the actual J1 Visa!
6: Once you have had your succesful visa interview, the embassy will keep yopur passport and other documents, and normally send these back to you (including your J1 visa) within 5-10 working days.
7: You are then good to go!
